SENAI- Brazilian National Industry Service – invest U.S. $ 3 billion for the creation of 24 institutes of innovation in Brazil by 2015, special project that celebrates the 70th anniversary of the entity. At least three of them will be facing the mining industry, in Minas Gerais and Pará.
In Minas, will be three centers: two in the Technology Center Foundation of Minas Gerais (CETEC) in Belo Horizonte (MG), facing surface engineering and metallurgy and special alloys, and another one in Itajubá, for the energy high electric power. The example of iron ore is even remembered. That’s because Brazil exports in raw form 85% of its production of the input, but compared to steel, exports account for only 2%. From there, the idea is that the country can open your eyes to products with higher added value.
The project has major partners, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States, and the Fraunhofer Society of Germany. Experts from both institutions will collaborate for the installation of the units. The investment in the partnership will be $ 180,000 per year for the entire project – resources to be used even in professional exchanges.
